Obscure World

Both nature and human mind are getting too hazy and obscure. Truth and honesty has been replaced by duplicity and cunning. Known faces are becoming blurred, difficult to recognize. Eccentricity, greed and selfishness have taken hold of human soul. Materialism has become so overpowering as to prevail on Godfearingness and piety. Human life and dignity are no more sacred to anybody. Mankind seems rushing blindly towards its ultimate end. Who knows when the Final moment will come? But perhaps surely not very far.

The Wish-cow -- hind part mine n' mouth part yours

What a ridiculous situation! They came to power in our name and now grabbing everything also in our name. Looks their hunger won't be satiated till they gulp down everything. Offices - one in the capital and the other in their constituency; tax-free luxurious cars; status 'untouchable' by law and what not? We people have no place in the list. But look! we're proud of 'our' democracy.Yes democracy - what else do we need?

The Inevitable

Yea, the inevitable has began to show itself with full momentum. As I predicted, things are taking the course they used to run on. The same thugism, goondaraj, 'dakhaldari' and extortionism have returned with renewed vigour, changing the label only. 'Jononetri's digital Bangladesh is fast fading out. Greed, lust and callous incompetency are once again in place with lesser intrepidity and impunity. In fact does a 'neem' tree ever bring forth grapes?

Disillusioned!!

Am I getting disillusioned? Maybe. The zeal with which we voted the present ruling party to power is gradually evaporating. I've a premonition this govt, in spite of everything in favour, is going to embrace failure. I'm afraid my long-set conviction that an almond tree can never yield mango is going to be proved once again. How regrettable it is that a party which won a landslide victory failed to evaluate the blessings of the people and now indulging in patronizing those thugs and goons who did almost nothing when their leaders were being grilled. It fell short of honest leaders to top the parliamentary bodies and placed convicts there! What a shame that it began to step in the shoes of the previous govt and took no time to place its henchmen at the top posts where a few days ago their antagonists held sway! Now people are wailing for water and power but they are singing the old chorus. Even they failed to take drastic action against those who are responsible for such a catastrophic situation! They are now showing hundreds of excuses but they did not fail to manage tax-free cars and an iron grip on upazilla parishads with lightning speed. Here pro & anti -- all cawed in equal crescendo. How fantastic! And more, how stupid we people are!!

Education Policy

News is coming in that a 'remodeled' education policy is afoot. It's not known yet what 'mole hill' will burst forth from the committee meant for that remodeled education policy. But what we understand that remodeling the education policy is not so difficult as our 'experts' often say. What is needed is simple patriotism and pragmatism. They may include -- a. Make primary education upto 8th grade at the end of which a public exam will be held. (Hopefully, it's going to be accepted, as we hear.) b. Make the syllabus uniform for the 3/4 branches ( e,g, English medium, Bangla Medium, Madrasa etc) running at present upto the 8th grade. c. Drop unnecessary humanities subjects for science and science subjects for humanities & commerce students. (God knows from whose fertile brain such ridiculous and wasting idea came forth.) Rather for general idea about civics, economics, geography & history and personal hygiene introduce these subjects from 6th to 8th grade. Besides, drop religion after 8th grade. What is most important is unburden the students of useless & unnecessary subjects which will be of no use in their future life. After all what's the use of knowledge of physics & chemistry for a banker or an accountant? Gentlemen, understand realities. Spare our children of unwholesome and meaningless troubles and us of unnecessary expenditure. Stop making our children gineapigs for capricious experiment on education.

WHO SHALL WE TRUST?

We voted the present ruling party en masse with a very high hope that they will fulfill their pledge to build a 'digital Bangladesh' where there will be no corruption, educational institutions will be freed from pernicious party politics, law will be given to take it's own course, shameless bipartisanism will not be indulged in, local govts will be allowed to play their roles according to the dictates of the constitution and above all there will be no evil competition of placing party yesmen in the top posts of different institutions. But what we see to our utter chagrin that the shameless atrocities of the past BNP led regime are being repeated by AL thru' taking control of everything everywhere. How earnestly did we trust our 'deshnetri' (?)! We are agpe with wonder how helpless she has become to rein in her party cohorts. How helplessly did she stare at the en masse resignation of the top executives of the BSMMU a few days ago and now the ACC Chairman. She even seems to be noncommittal at the death of a meritorious medical student having fallen victim to pernicious political henchmanship. Now, who shall we trust? Ah my wretched country!

Despair in Hope

What's the fate of this nation? The more optimistic the people have been, the more disappointment they experience. The pillars of hope and aspiration are crumbling down one after another. They're simply taken aback by those they chose as their chosen ones have began the same travelogue - the travelogue of a sojourner having no return. Oh, how with sky-high hope did we vote for them! And now they are leading us to the abyss only to scramble on the rotten bones of the bereft.
